One thing's for sure, this cuvée will have taken us on a journey to the Mediterranean basin. In the south of France, we drew on the silky, supple, fruity Syrah, with its distinctive acidity, and the round, suave, fresh and structured Grenache. Then we crossed the Alps to Italy, where a complex, lively and concentrated Sangiovese awaited us. A successful transnational marriage.

The grapes were hand-picked to select only the most promising ones, and completely destemmed. We prefer to vinify in stainless steel vats, which give a faithful expression of the fruit, and age the wine to perfection. The Syrah and Grenache grapes are blended at the end of vinification before spending 8 months in demi-muids, and the Sangiovese rests for the same period in 225l barrels. They are then brought together and left for a further 9 months in stainless steel tanks.

Taste

Adorned with a superb deep ruby color that's hard to resist, this cuvée transports you to the heart of Hôtel Amigo, its source of inspiration. Its discreet nose of red berries and undergrowth needs a little time to open up, but be patient, it's worth it. It will then reveal the violet scent typical of Syrah. On the palate, it's supported by a fine acidic structure. Fruity, greedy, fine, generous, with tannins that are present but enveloped, your taste buds won't know where to turn! 

Enjoy it young, or cellar it for a few years for greater complexity. It goes well with simple pleasures like charcuterie, or richer dishes such as meat in sauce.
